President of Russia Vladimir Putin eager to meet President Joko Widodo

He may have only sent a delegate to President Joko Widodo’s inauguration today, but Russia’s president and all-round badass, Vladimir Putin, is eager to meet Jokowi in the near future.

“He [Putin] is very much hoping to be able to meet Jokowi soon”, said Russia’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, after attending Jokowi’s inauguration at the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR).

For now, Manturov has passed on Putin’s regard and congratulations for Jokowi. Manturov said Putin is hoping to meet Jokowi sometime next year to discuss several bilateral issues between Indonesia and Russia.

We’re sure Vladimir Putin just wants a friendly chat with our president, but, if we were in Jokowi’s shoes, we’d probably be trembling at the knees. Better stay on Russia’s good side, Pak Jokowi.

Can’t say we didn’t warn you
