The media and internet in Indonesia were, as expected, obsessed with figuring out who alleged celebrity prostitutes NM and PR were after police apprehended them and their two suspected pimps, F and O, during an undercover operation yesterday.
Many guessed NM to be actress and model Nikita Mirzani. It turned out they were right.
Partahi Sihombing, Nikita’s legal representation, today spoke to the media to confirm that his client was apprehended at a 5-star hotel in Central Jakarta last night.
However, Partahi denied Nikita was apprehended during an undercover prostitution operation. Instead, he had a much more convenient, much less believable explanation as to why Nikita was at the hotel, which he revealed to be Hotel Indonesia Kempinski.
“Nikita was trying on new clothes she had just bought, she wasn’t in the middle of a prostitution transaction,” Partahi said, as quoted by Tempo today.
Partahi added that Nikita went to the hotel to meet up with a woman named Cici to discuss work.
Nikita was allowed to go home after previously having to attend rehab as the police named her a human trafficking victim. It looks like Partahi’s defense worked wonders for his client.
