Legendary rockers Slank will have the honor of performing at Jokowi’s presidential inauguration on October 20. The band will take center stage at the Monumen Nasional (Monas).
Slank has been very vocal in supporting the president-elect and even staged a free concert for Jokowi before presidential elections. They’ll also be there to take Jokowi to Istana Negara, though details on the ceremony are still being discussed.
“We’re still coordinating, we’ll have the final meeting today to decide what the ceremony will be like,” said Slank guitarist Abdee Negara to Detik.com on Tuesday.
Initial plans are for there to be a parade taking Jokowi and vice president-elect Jusuf Kalla from the DPR in Senayan to Istana Negara in Jalan Merdeka. In between, there would be a huge party hosted by Slank at Monas, and everyone’s invited.
