We generally care very little about the Indonesian entertainment industry, but this story is just too ridiculous to not be shared with our loyal, enlightened readers.
In case you’re out of the showbiz loop, veteran actor/singer and supposed spiritual guru Aa Gatot (real name Gatot Brajamusti) was arrested in a hotel in Mataram, Lombok on August 28 for drug possession, right after he was re-elected as head of the Indonesian Film Actors Association (Parfi). Soon after, the police searched his house in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, and found firearms and ammunition, as well as, curiously, a preserved Sumatran tiger and a live Javanese eagle.
Aa Gatot then became fodder for gossip columns and tabloids, with entertainment journalists and the public keen to dig further into his lifestyle, which is supposedly filled with sex, drugs, and spirits (the scary kind).
That’s when one woman, identified as 26-year-old CT, made the most startling (and most graphic) accusation yet towards Aa Gatot.
CT’s lawyer, Sudarmono, yesterday reported Aa Gatot to the Jakarta Metro Police. According to him, CT met Aa Gatot in 2007 as a 16-year-old with aspirations to be a dangdut singer.
“At the time my client wanted to be Aa Gatot’s background singer,” Sudarmono said, as quoted by Warta Kota.
Aa Gatot made CT believe that he had sacred powers because he is the descendant of prophets and kings. Then one day, Aa Gatot convinced CT that there was a genie named Jibram trapped inside him, and the only way to get him out was for Aa Gatot to inhale a sort of sacred oxygen from a virgin’s vagina and then have sex with said virgin.
Furthermore, Sudarmono said Aa Gatot forced CT to smoke meth and drink alcohol in order to let go of her inhibitions before sex.
“At the time my client was underage. She didn’t know that what she smoked was meth,” Sudarmono said.
CT then followed Aa Gatot around until 2011, discontinuing her studies at the middle school level. During that time, Sudarmono said she got pregnant three times but Aa Gatot made her get an abortion on two occasions. She kept her third pregnancy and gave birth in 2012, with the child being 4 years old now.
Aa Gatot’s lawyer, Muara Karta, denied the accusations of rape from CT’s camp, saying that Aa Gatot and CT were actually married but that they had separated.
“Why didn’t she report [Aa Gatot to the police] ages ago if all this began in 2007? This is only being done to further bring down Aa Gatot’s reputation I think,” Muara said.
