Donald Trump’s ‘Made in the USA’ suits are actually ‘Made in Indonesia’

US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has made a huge part of his xenophobic policy platform about returning jobs from overseas back to America. The only problem with that is it has been proven multiple times that many of the products bearing Trump’s personal brand are actually produced overseas

The latest embarrassing example of this was discovered by the folks at Buzzfeed. They were investigating an odd discrepancy in the listings for Trump brand suits being sold on Amazon – specifically, that they were listed as both “Made in the USA” and “Imported”. So they actually purchased two Trump suits (which they will hopefully burn later, for fashion’s sake) to see what the labels on them actually said.

The results will not surprise anybody familiar with Trump (or who read the headline to this story).

Yes, sadly the suits were manufactured here in Indonesia, hopefully by workers who had no idea that the clothes they were making were going to the same man who once proposed banning all Muslims from entering America (though more recently he has replaced that with a proposal for “extreme vetting”).

However, suits are hardly the only Trump paraphernalia being produced in Indonesia. The Jakarta Post recently did a story on a small village in Klaten, Central Java, where a company with 60 workers was hired to produce 15,000 souvenirs for the Republican candidate.

So it seems like, despite his intense dislike of Muslims, Trump does like Indonesia (or at least its cheap manufacturing labor).

And what do Indonesians think of Trump? We’ll let ex-House Speaker Setya Novanto remind you:

Just kidding – Indonesians hate Trump
