Police release suggested alternate routes during odd-even traffic scheme

With the trial period of the odd-even traffic rule set to begin on July 27, the police have revealed the alternate routes available to affected vehicles.

The trial of the odd-even rule will be enforced on Jalan Sisingamaharaja, Jalan Sudirman, Jalan MH Thamrin, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, and parts of Jalan Gatot Subroto from 7am to 10am and 4:30pm to 8:30pm on weekdays. Under the new rule, vehicles with odd-numbered plates will be allowed to use those roads during rush hours on odd calendar dates and vice-versa.

Vehicles forbidden to enter the above roads as a result of the rule will be directed towards the following roads, as picked up by Vivanews today:

From east to west

Jalan Gatot Subroto – Jalan HR Rasuna Said – Jalan Prof Dr Satrio – Jalan KH Mas Mansyur – Jalan Pejompongan – Jalan Penjernihan – Jalan Gatot Subroto – Jalan S.Parman/Slipi onwards.

From west to east/south

Jalan Gatot Subroto – Jalan Penjernihan – Jalan Pejompongan – Jalan KH Mas Mansyur – Jalan Dr Satrio – Jalan HR Rasuna Said – Jalan Gatot Subroto/Jalan Kapten Tendean onwards.

From south to north

Jalan Panglima Polim – Jalan Bulungan – Jalan Pati Unus – Jalan Hamengku Buwono 10 – Jalan Hang Lekir – Jalan Asia Afrika – Jalan Gelora – Jalan Tentara Pelajar – Jalan Penjernihan – Jalan KH mas Mansyur – Jalan Cideng Barat/Cideng Timur – Jalan Abdul Muis – Jalan Majapahit onwards.

From north to south

Jalan Gajah Mada/Hayam Wuruk (Harmoni) – Jalan Ir H.Juanda – Jalan Veteran 3 – Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara – Jalan Perwira – Jalan Lapangan Banteng Barat – Jalan Pejambon – Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur – Jalan Ridwan Rais – Jalan Prapatan – Jalan Abdul Rahman Hakim (Tugu Tani) – Jalan Menteng Raya – Jalan Cut Mutia – Jalan Teuku Umar – Jalan Sam Ratulangi – Jalan Hos Cokroaminoto – Jalan HR Rasuna Said – Jalan Gatot Subroto onwards.

The trial period serves as a time to raise public awareness about the odd-even rule and will go on until August 26. During this time, offenders will only be given warnings for disobeying the rule. The rule is set to be officially enforced on August 30, during which time offenders will be ticketed and fined Rp 500 thousand.
