Calling all wine-deprived in Indonesia: This is going to change your life!

Presented by

If you’re a wine lover living in Indonesia, you are typically one of two things: either very rich or very frustrated. That’s because good wine at a reasonable price is extremely hard to come by here, as anyone reading this probably knows.

The diehard connoisseurs among us find ourselves having to frequent specialized shops or at the least big supermarkets, and even then we still end up paying about three times more than we would for the same bottle in the US.

As so, many of us have resorted to either drinking crap wine regularly, spending a small fortune to drink good wine occasionally, or giving up on our passion all together and sticking to beer. If you fall into one of these categories, boy, do we have news for you.

Plaga Wine is bringing the concept of easy-to-find, easy-to-drink wine to Indonesia for the first time. In a truly international operation, their experienced Argentinian winemaker imports grapes from premium wine growing regions in Chile and Western Australia before the juice is fermented and bottled right here in Indonesia.

What emerges is a collection of young, fresh and highly affordable wines, from the fruity Chardonnay, to the crisp Sauvignon Blanc, the tropical Rose and Sweet Rose, the deep Cabernet Sauvignon, and the Plaga Blend (Red, White and Rose), the latter of which many local restaurants use to make Sangria.

But what makes Plaga even more amazing is that as well as having a physical “Wine House” at No. 66 Jalan Raya Kerobokan, Bali, they also operate in Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Balikpapan, Manado and Lombok, as customers can shop online via Gojek and have their tipple DELIVERED TO THEIR HOMES.

Yep, you read that right.

Prices for residential delivery start from IDR180,000 per bottle, making this an absolute lifeline for any Indo wine lover. As long of you like the Plaga selection, of course… and there’s only one way to find that out – get yourself on Go Mart, stat!

These guys are so new that their website is still under construction, so we recommend you check out their Facebook page for more information on this fun and funky new company. Plaga has been sloshing up a storm at various events all over the country and already has more than 13,000 likes. We can’t imagine why they’re so popular!
