Karate teachers beaten by angry mob after stealing a computer from a school in Bogor

Unless you’re a character in “The Raid” or some other martial arts action movie, no amount of fight training is going to save you from a pissed off mob.

That’s the lesson two karate teachers learned after they were found to have stolen a computer from the school they trained at in Sukaraja, Bogor, last Saturday.

The karate teachers, identified by police as 25-year-old HR and 25-year-old SM, used to train at Sipayung 1 Elementary School in Sukaraja, Bogor, every Saturday. But in addition to practicing their spin kicks, the two were evidently also casing the school in order to rob it.

“Both actors stole the computer after they trained on Saturday,” said Cigudeg Police Chief Asep Saepuddin, as quoted by Tempo.

However, being karate teachers and not ninjas, the two were spotted mid-theft by a teacher at the school, who immediately reported it to the principal.

Local authorities as well as residents of the neighborhood then went to look for HR and SM to question them about the crime, but both denied any wrongdoing.

“Evidence of the stolen computer was found in their house, but they remained evasive and the emotional mass of people started to beat them,” said Asep.

After enduring the beatdown, the suspects finally admitted to their crime. However, while they were being taken to the police station, SM someohow jumped off of the bike he had been placed on and managed to run away, leaving HR to be taken to the station alone.

Police say HR faces up to 5 years in prison for the theft. Authorities are still searching for SM (maybe he actually does have some ninja training).
