Holycow! Steakhouse apologizes after woman finds dead gecko in dessert

Local chain restaurant Holycow! Steakhouse is still dealing with the fallout from an extremely disgusting discovery one of their customers supposedly made while eating at one of their outlets.

Kompas reported that the customer, identified as Lamia, last week posted on her Path account a photo of what appears to be a dead gecko she had just dug out of her tiramisu dessert. But apparently the way she discovered the creature was way worse that simply finding it buried inside the sweet:

“I ate tiramisu in Holycow! and there’s a dead gecko. It’s this big, I ate bits of its head thinking it was chocolate flakes, but it turned out to be a dead gecko,” she wrote.

Holycow! promptly issued an official statement on their website apologizing for the incident. They explained that the tiramisu dessert in question was provided by an external vendor, MISU, and that they have cut off business arrangements with them following the gruesome discovery.

“This incident serves as a reminder for us to be more diligent in choosing vendors who sell through us,” the statement read.

MISU has also claimed full responsibility for the incident in an official statement that they tweeted before their Twitter account disappeared:

“MISU takes full responsibility for the incident because the product was made in MISU’s kitchen and we’re investigating as to how this happened,” the statement read.

There has been no explanation from MISU as to how a dead gecko ended up inside their dessert.
