Vehicles crawling on Soekarno-Hatta Airport toll road, average speed reported at 30 km/h

If you have plans to fly out of the city for the long weekend, you might want to start driving to the Soekarno-Hatta Airport an hour or two earlier than usual.

PT Jasa Marga, the company that manages the Soedyatmo toll road that connects to Soekarno-Hatta Airport, says that there have been a long queue of vehicles on the toll road going into the airport since 1 pm today. The average speed of vehicles on the toll road was estimated at a mere 30 km/h.

“The traffic is heavy from Kamal toll road to Cengkareng as a result of the queue on the Cengkareng toll gate,” a PT Jasa Marga officer told Detik.

Not only that, Detik also reported that there are traffic jams in the inner city toll roads as well. Google Maps also gives an ominously red-filled view of how Jakarta’s macet looks this afternoon.

Hope you don’t miss your flight!
