North Korea demands University of Indonesia create a ‘Kim Jong-un’ class

While the public and media are preoccupied with the controversy over LGBT issues on the campus of Universitas Indonesia (UI), nobody seems bothered by the fact that the prestigious institution of higher education is seriously considering creating a special class about North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un at the request of the North Korean government.

Recently, representatives from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (the ironic yet official name of North Korea) visited the UI campus to form a partnership between the secretive totalitarian state and the university, which university officials have tentatively agreed to. The agreement came with certain requests from the North Korean side.

“The demand for a special Kim Jong-un class is part of the agreement between the country’s university and UI to carry out exchanges of students, staff and lecturers,” Nesti ‘Ines’ Rahayu, staff of UI’s International Office, told the Jakarta Post.

Ines said that the university was considering the demand for a class focusing on the baby-faced 33-year-old supreme leader, as well as the rest of the agreement proposal, with the goal of creating a partnership that both UI and North Korea could be happy with.

Actually, we think a university class all about Kim Jong-un could be a great idea. Students could learn all about how he was a child prodigy that was able to drive at the age of 3, cured AIDS, ebola and cancer with single miracle drug, and about how he doesn’t need to poop or pee.

More seriously, they could learn all about the horrific human rights abuses taking place in North Korea under his leadership, or about how Indonesia’s own Sukarno Education Foundation awarded him a peace prize for “his fight against neo-colonialist imperialism”.
