BNN arrests one pilot and two flight attendants at “drug party” in South Tangerang

Update: According to Warta Kota, the co-pilot and two flight attendants all work for Lion Air. The airline’s general director Edward Sirait is expected to hold a press conference about the arrests this afternoon.

In what is another stain to the Indonesian aviation industry, the Banten chapter of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) recently arrested three aviation employees for taking illegal narcotics in South Tangerang.

“The initial information is that [the people arrested were] one air stewardess, one air steward, and a co-pilot,” said BNN spokesman Police Grand Commissioner Slamet Pribadi, as quoted by Okezone yesterday.

The three were reportedly caught consuming meth at an apartment in South Tangerang on December 19.

BNN has not disclosed further information about the identities of the suspects, or which airline they work for.
