English electro pop group Clean Bandit has put out a number of hit songs since they formed in 2009, but their most well-known track remains their 2014 earworm “Rather Be,” which dominated the charts in the UK for several weeks and won the award for best dance recording at the Grammy Awards.
Clean Bandit is known for its signature sound that liberally mixes elements of classical music with electronic and dance music. Two of the band’s members, Grace Chatto and Neil Amin-Smith were actually leading a string quartet when they decided to go in a very different direction by starting Clean Bandit.
Fun fact: The band’s name is actually a direct translation of a Russian phrase that is similar in meaning to the term “complete bastard:, though with a more affectionate overtone.
Known for putting on fun, high energy performances, Clean Bandit fans are likely to swarm this concert even though it’s taking place on a Tuesday night, so pick up your tickets while you can.
