Lion Air pilot allegedly offers air hostess to passengers to compensate for delay, ‘moans’ heard over PA system

By law, airplane passengers are entitled to compensation from airlines if their flight is delayed for longer than certain periods of time. But passengers on one delayed Lion Air flight from Surabaya to Bali on November 14 were allegedly offered a compensation they’ll never forget.

Lambertus Maengkong was on that flight. He claimed he was so offended by the flight’s pilot that he reported him to the Ministry of Transportation yesterday.

Allegedly, the pilot announced over the PA system that he’d like to offer an airhostess, who is a widow, to passengers to compensate for the flight’s delay.

“Is that part of the standard procedure when a pilot repeatedly offers an airhostess who is a widow to passengers?” wrote Lambertus in his complaint, as picked up by Okezone yesterday.

Not only that, Lambertus also claimed that passengers heard strange noises blared through the PA system coming from the cockpit.

“We heard strange noises and moans throughout the flight,” he wrote.

Upon arrival in Bali, some passengers wanted to confront the pilot and waited for him on the tarmac in front of the airplane. But the pilot allegedly refused to meet the passengers and instead just laughed from the cockpit and raised his hands as if taunting the passengers.

The identity of the pilot is not yet known. There hasn’t been any official word from the Ministry of Transportation regarding this alleged incident.
