Soekarno-Hatta Airport wins award for cleanest toilets in an Indonesian airport

Generally, we like to avoid using airport toilets whenever possible, but it does give us some peace of mind to know that Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta Airport supposedly has the cleanest toilets in all of the country’s airports.

According to Detik, the airport won this year’s Sapta Pesona Public Toilet Cleanliness Award (yes, such a thing actually exists) by scoring a whopping 85.18 out of 100 in whatever factors they use to define toilet hygiene.

Soekarno-Hatta beat out such esteemed competition as Medan’s Kualanamu, Tanjung Pinang’s Haji Fisabilillah, and Pekanbaru’s Sultan Syarif Kasim II.

The panelists for this award include members of the Indonesian Toilet Association, the Tourism Ministry, the Transportation Ministry, and the Indonesian Consumers Foundation, among others.

As legit as that sounds, we still wouldn’t call Soekarno-Hatta Airport toilets sparkling clean by any stretch of the imagination. But then again, we’ve seen some absolute horror shows in other airports in the country, so this award means flush all in the end.

If Soekarno-Hatta Airport could win a hypothetical clean toilet award against the likes of Changi and KLIA, then we’d really be impressed.
