Indonesian football golden boy Evan Dimas to ply his trade in Spain

Evan Dimas is probably the only shining light in all of Indonesian football. With the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) in complete shambles, nobody could blame Evan for deciding to play the beautiful game abroad.

Evan is set to make the move to Spain on August 10, though which club he’s signing for remains a mystery.

“Evan will move to one of the two clubs in Spain. But I can’t reveal where Evan will play,” said Rahmat Sanjaya, secretary of Surabayan football club Persebaya, as quoted by Tempo yesterday.

Was Rahmat implying that Evan will be joining with of the two Spanish giants, Barcelona or Real Madrid? Only time will tell, but we doubt Evan has the abilities to succeed at either of the two clubs.

Evan actually attended a short course in Barcelona in 2012 through a Nike contest. He briefly received lessons from Barcelona’s players and their legendary coach, Josep Guardiola.

Whichever club he joins, we hope Evan can do us all proud in Spain.
