Police investigating Haji Lulung in 3D printer and scanner corruption case

Deputy chairman of the Jakarta City Council (DPRD) Abraham “Haji Lulung” Lunggana was summoned to the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Directorate (Bareskrim) today as a witness in a corruption case.

Haji Lulung is being questioned about the suspected markup in the procurement of 3D printers and scanners in 25 public schools in West Jakarta. This case is also tied to the UPS (uninterrupted power supply) corruption scandal, in which the police have already named the former head of infrastructure at the West Jakarta Education Agency, Alex Usman, as a suspect.

Lulung arrived at 10am today, having been summoned to appear in Bareskrim last week.

“This case is detrimental to the state, I hope all of the perpetrators are punished justly if they’re proven guilty,” Lulung said, as quoted by Detik today.

Despite having seemingly clear connections to the UPS corruption case, Haji Lulung last week proclaimed that he and his family should be buried alive if he is proven guilty of corruption.
