Actress Luna Maya (who is still probably most famous for her role in one of Indonesia’s biggest sex scandals) earned the honor of being paid to portray superheroine Black Widow from Marvel’s Avengers.
No, she’s not replacing Scarlett Johansson in the upcoming Age of Ultron movie. Luna is merely a ‘celebrity ambassador’ tasked with promoting the movie in Indonesia – while wearing Black Widow’s signature leather tights, of course.
“I didn’t think twice [about accepting the offer]. Of course I’d accept. They’re Disney and Marvel,” Luna said yesterday, as quoted by Tempo.
Luna said she’s going into a film shoot as Black Widow on Friday, though she didn’t reveal exactly what was being filmed.
We wonder if other Indonesian actors will be chosen to play the rest of the Avengers for the new movie’s local promotions. Someone like Reza Rahadian would make a decent Tony Stark, or perhaps Hercules the dangdut star for The Hulk?
Avengers: Age of Ultron is out in Indonesian cinemas on April 22.
