Police find blunt force trauma on drowned University of Indonesia student’s body

Lake Kenanga, where Akseyna’s body was found on March 26

There have been many guesses as to what happened to University of Indonesia (UI) student Akseyna Ahad Dori, who was found dead in Lake Kenanga in the UI campus late last month. But it seems even the police have yet to figure out if Akseyna’s death was a suicide or a homicide.

Akseyna’s autopsy results, which were revealed today, suggest there might be foul play involved in his death. The police say there were injuries on Akseyna’s body that were likely caused by the force of a blunt object.

“The injury could have been caused by anything. He could’ve been hit with a stick or someone’s fists,” said Musyafak, head of the Medical Unit at the Jakarta Police, as quoted by Warta Kota today.

The police ruled out that Akseyna died from the blunt force trauma, as there was water found inside his lungs, which suggested that he was alive before he drowned in the lake.

“It means he was breathing when he entered the water,” Musyafak said.
