Families of Air Asia flight QZ8501 passengers upset over lack of information

Waiting for information at the Juanda Airport in Surabaya, families of passengers on the Air Asia flight QZ8501 are beginning to get upset over a perceived lack of information from authorities regarding the missing airplane.

Some are requesting that the authorities open up to more information about search efforts.

“If the plane crashed, just say so, don’t cover it up,” said a woman named Sane, as quoted by Detik today.

Sane, who is waiting on news on her friend who is a passenger on the flight, said she received information from a friend in Batam that the plane had indeed crashed.

“I’m confused. I hope everybody’s safe,” she said, crying.

Civil Aviation Authority Angkasa Pura General Manager Trikora Harjo is hoping that families of passengers can remain patient and to not believe rumors until they become official.

“Trust us that we are continuing search efforts,” Trikora said.
