#Indonesiaheartspath: Social network company Path adds Jakarta to its exclusive friends list

Indonesians (particularly in Jakarta) don’t just rule Twitter, we’re also the kings of Path, the mobile-exclusive social media network.

TechinAsia reported that Path is planning to put more resources into Indonesia, which is the app’s best performing market in the world. Path is setting up a team in Indonesia and they’re looking for a full-time country manager.

That’s because Indonesia remains Path’s key market, despite underwhelming global performance. Speaking to The Jakarta Post, founder and CEO Dave Morin claimed Path have accumulated 4 million registered users in Indonesia, from a total of 20 million users globally. On top of that, Path also received an investment of Rp 304 billion from the Bakrie Group, so it’s only logical that they plant their feet firmly in Indonesia.

We’ve already seen Facebook and Google set up offices in Jakarta, with Twitter and Path to follow suit. Are we truly becoming the social media capital of the entire world?
