Having just recovered from Battle of the Toys, Jakarta geeks already have another awesome event to head this weekend – Popcon Asia.
Uniting fandoms from all corners of geekdom, including comic book lovers, gamers, toy collectors, film buffs and animation enthusiasts, Popcon should have something to cater to everybody’s inner nerd.
Claiming to be the biggest pop culture festival in Asia, Popcon 2014 offers geeks a wide variety of activities to enjoy, including cosplay fashion shows, workshops on breaking into creative industries, a card and board game arena, film screenings and much more.
There will also be a number of notable guests including comic book illustrator Ardian Syaf, who has drawn issues of some of DC and Marvel Comics’ biggest titles, including “Batman and Robin,” “Superman” and “X-Men.”
He even managed to sneak Jokowi into the pages of “Batgirl” (in the scene the superheroine is staking out Gotham City’s Little Jakarta neighborhood).
If you consider yourself geeky in the slightest, a trip to Popcon this weekend needs to be on your to-do list.
